Anna Ruby Falls is a short 1 mile round trip family friendly hike in northern Georgia. We hiked this trail on our Southeast road trip after stopping in Atlanta and Helen.
Anna Ruby Falls is an easy trail in Unicoi State Park. You do have to pay a small entrance fee, but it was worth it. The hike was pretty gentle the whole way, and the trail was paved. On our way to the falls, we hiked past some creeks and wooded areas. Here is my review on hiking Anna Ruby Falls with kids...

The parking lot is very easy to find, and there is a small visitors center with a gift shop there as well. There are plenty of trail maps for the other trails Unicoi State Park, but we love waterfalls, so Anna Ruby Falls was an easy choice.
Once you start on the trail, there is a warning about the possibility of rattlesnakes. This scared the kids a little, yet we used this to teach them about how to respect animals in the wild and not to mess with them. It was a great lesson for future hikes.
Once you arrive half a mile later, you reach Anna Ruby Falls, there is a nice viewing platform we took pictures from.

On the way back to the car, we stopped to take some more pictures and take in the scenery. To read about more hikes in the area, check out this guide book - 60 Hikes Within 60 Miles of Atlanta

Overall, we really enjoyed this easy little hike! It is great for toddlers, younger children, and kids of all ages. I wish we could have done some of the other waterfalls around Helen, but we were in a rush to get to our next stop which was 30 minutes away in Tallulah Gorge.
